Here are the different files we offer and what software they’re usually used for.
SVG
Stands fo Scalable Vector Graphics. SVGs can be opened in the Designers Edition of the Silhouette Studio Software and used for cut. You must have the Designers Edition; SVGs will not open in the free standard version. SVGs are also usually the typical format to open in Cricut Design Space and most popular cutting programs.
Stands for Portable Document Format. PDFs can be opened with Adobe Reader and is mainly used for print. PDFs are best for print because they can be resized without losing quality.
DXF
Drawing eXchange Format is s a file extension for a graphic image format typically used with AutoCAD (Computer Assisted Drafting) software. You can use DXF files in the basic Silhouette Studio.
EPS
Encapsulated PostScript is a PostScript image file format that is compatible with PostScript printers and is often used for transferring files between various graphics applications. Most people open EPS files in Adobe based software programs.
PNG
Portable Network Graphics is a raster graphics file format that supports lossless data compression. Our PNG files have transparent backgrounds and are great for mockups or use on the web.
